📣 📣 📣 We’ve officially decided that in late November, we are transitioning Malachi Daily to an email newsletter instead of text messages for the time being.*

It’s bittersweet for us.

The bitter 😔

There’s something simple and practical about doing this via text messages (that's why we chose it from the start).

But the reality is, text messages are very expensive to send at scale. And the hardest part is that the more people who join the community, the more money it costs (more people = more text messages = more $ to send them)

...which puts us in a tough position because we want to help more people memorize Scripture for free...but we also have growing families to provide for.

All that said, even with the generous support of our Inner Circle, doing this via texts right now isn't financially sustainable.*

So when we considered the options..

1. ❌ shut down completely or 
2. 📧 move to email

Option 1 felt disobedient to what we believe we were called to when we started this thing. So here we are...

The sweet 😄

While there are downsides we’re bummed about for sure (yes, we know some people hate emails and will unsubscribe...its okay, we can handle it), we're excited about the change for a few reasons:

1. 🟢 Free forever: Sending emails still costs money, but they're significantly cheaper, so this can now be freely available to everyone moving forward AND be sustainable financially.

2. 🌎 Going global: We were only able to send text messages to the US and Canada. Moving to email allows us to help anyone around the world with internet access memorize and learn about Scripture.

3. 🤯 More possibilities: Text messages limit the length and types of content we can send. Email provides more room (literally) for education, and other types of content (trivia, more context, visuals, etc.) to go deeper on the Scripture we're memorizing.

It’ll be a different feel for those used to the text messages, but the mission and the core of what we do is still the same:  Memorize a new bible verse every other week and learn its context in bite-sized pieces - so you can grow deeper in your relationship with God.

Thank you so much for your continued support! We're grateful for the time you've entrusted us with so far - we don't take it lightly. No action is needed on your part - we hope to continue to serve you and the rest of the community well!

*p.s. We're hopeful that if we grow the community to 5000+ subscribers, that’s when organizations become willing to sponsor the newsletter, which would provide the funds to bring back a daily text message option for those who want it.

So it’s not a no to text messages forever…just a no for now!
